UKCP registered psychotherapist
AAMET registered EFT practitioner

I am interested in a broad range of body-mind therapies.  I believe the spiritual dimension is important to our well-being.  I also have a strong connection with the earth and am passionate about apples, pears and other fruit.

I trained as a Western medical doctor in 1978 and specialised in Biochemistry, Endocrinology and Diabetes and then in Palliative Medicine.  I worked in hospitals and hospices until 2003 when I left medicine as I no longer believed that the body was a purely mechanical machine. I now work as a transpersonal psycho- therapist registered with UKCP and I practice on the Essex-Suffolk border and in London.

I trained in Transpersonal Psychotherapy at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education (CCPE) in London completing a 4-year diploma (degree equivalent) course in 2006. This was an integrative training so I use several different ‘schools' of therapy in my work. The spiritual dimension is very important to me and I use creative techniques and body work including EFT to complement the talking therapy. I also give individual tutorials and workshops on what stops people finishing the work required for the CCPE Diploma.  I have an interest in Dyslexia.

I completed two years training at Institute of Traditional Herbal Medicine and Aromatherapy (ITHMA) which included five element oriental medicine which allows me to be a member of International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists (IFPA). I have trained in Usui Reiki so I tap into Universal Healing Energy which I use intuitively as Therapeutic Touch.

I am a passionate earth-friendly gardener who uses permaculture and biodynamic principles. I grow as much of my own food as possible and enjoy foraging in hedgerows. I am discovering and renovating traditonal apple (and other fruit) orchards and preserving old apple varieties as a way of interesting people in local food.  The trees are pruned gently in harmony with the needs of the tree. I am also learning the art of apple identification. I have been developing a workshop looking at the interface between inner and outer garden called ‘Gardening the Soul'.
